ASPBAE is on the Board of the Global Campaign for Education (GCE) and was selected Vice Chair of the GCE Board following its election in the GCE World Assembly in January 2008 in Sao Paolo.
ASPBAE is also represented in the Board of the International Council for Adult Education as Vice President for the Asia Pacific.
ASPBAE is the Asia Pacific coordinator of the GCE Real World Strategies (RWS) programme, a global GCE initiative funded by the Dutch government, aimed at building the capacities of education campaign coalitions to bring about policy change in favour of EFA.
ASPBAE hosts the Regional Secretariat of the Asia Pacific Civil Society Education Fund (CSEF), an initiative steered by the Global Campaign for Education (GCE) which aims to provide support to the core work of national education coalitions in EFA Fast track Initiative (FTI) and FTI eligible countries so that they can more fully engage in the development of education sector programs with government and donors and track the progress of national governments and local donor groups in working towards the EFA goals.
ASPBAE is a long standing partner of DVV International, one of the most active promoters of transformative adult education and learning globally through international cooperation.
ASPBAE works with various networks for its leadership building and advocacy work such as SEAPCP and KOMAS. It works with other regional campaign networks advancing the broad anti-poverty agenda including the Global Call to Action Against Poverty (GCAP) Asia, the ODA Asia Forum, the ASEAN People’s Forum and Migrants Forum in Asia. As part of the GCE, ASPBAE works closely with the Education International Asia Pacific Office, the Global March Against Child Labour and the Action Aid International Education Thematic Group on education campaigns in the region.
ASPBAE works with its member organisations and education campaign coalitions in different countries in the Asia Pacific to advance the right of all to education, adult literacy and adult learning, and to hold governments and donors accountable in ensuring that these rights are enjoyed by all citizens.
