The International Council for Adult Education (ICAE) which is leading the global campaign of civil society groups for the CONFINTEA 6 processes has launched as an Virtual Seminar as a part of the preparatory process towards CONFINTEA VI that will take place in Brazil in May 2009.
The Virtual Seminar presently underway (April 21 to May 9) is preparatory to a Seminar Workshop that the ICAE Executive Council will convene later in the year to define its key policy, demands and advocacy strategy for this UNESCO-led process. While the general objective of the Virtual Seminar is "to generate an advocacy action around the issues proposed by ICAE and contribute to the definition of advocacy proposals towards CONFINTEA VI" the specific objectives are to create a participation space for ICAE members, Gender and Education Office (GEO) members and ICAE Academy for Lifelong Learning Advocacy (IALLA) graduates, UIL and other education actors around the preparatory process towards CONFINTEA VI, encourage the exchange and reflection among them on the advocacy areas defined by ICAE as a priority towards CONFINTEA VI. The discussions on the Virtual Seminar may be accessed from the ICAE Website: http://www.icae.org.uy/ |
