ASPBAE FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY |

ASPBAE will convene its Fifth General Assembly in 2008 on the eve of the Sixth International Conference for Adult Education (CONFINTEA 6) slated for May 2009 in Brazil. In keeping with the tradition of the past 2 Assemblies, the Fifth General Assembly (GA) will involve a combination of face to face and email based consultations and processes through 2008, culminating in a Virtual Assembly where ASPBAE’s Constitutional obligations of voting and elections will be exercised by electronic vote.
To date, the Fifth GA First and Second Communiques have been issued to all the members. |

The International Council for Adult Education (ICAE) which is leading the global campaign of civil society groups for the CONFINTEA 6 processes has launched as an Virtual Seminar as a part of the preparatory process towards CONFINTEA VI that will take place in Brazil in May 2009. |

SUBJECT: Education to End Exclusion 
As the world is set to learn the biggest lesson on 23 April, constituents of Asian South Pacific Bureau of Adult Education (ASPBAE) released a regional study on the status of the Education for All (EFA) targets which urges all members of the global community especially state leaders to act now to reverse the education disadvantage across the world particularly in the Asia Pacific.
